Worcester is ready for Winter

As temperatures have dropped significantly and a national cold weather alert is in place for the next few days, Worcestershire is winter ready. 

The County Council’s gritters have been out and about over the past few evenings spreading salt on the roads to keep you moving and will continue to do this during this cold spell.

Wintery facts:

• 36 gritting vehicles ready
• 54 drivers
• 16,750 tonnes of salt stored across 6 depots
• 1,320 grit bins placed across the county
• 50,000 miles across the county traveled last year

The gritters are equipped with technology which allows them to be tracked live throughout gritting operations.
